Band Name: Karnival
Band Information: Karnival has been experimenting with their sound since their beginnings in 1998. Lying dormant from 1998 till 2003, the 4-piece band describes their sound as Indie with a fusion of alternative & rock. While mainly focused on the Malay scene, the band is presently exploring English music as well. They relate the name 'Karnival' to their music & life: just as life seems like a carnival, unpredictable in a certain way, so too are the band's music and its members, who describe themselves as sometimes silly but definitely serious about their music. Hard-thumping trancing riffs combine with sharp lyrics to create versatile-vox indie numbers that serve as a sort of musical document of their lives and loves. The hallmark of Karnival's music is the combination of strong lyrics and melodic sounds. Karnival debuted 'on air' on 30 May 2004 in an interview session with DJ Salihin from Muzik A (RSI). After a good five years away, Karnival now hopes to widen their sound scope and play a part in igniting the band.
